Preppy Diaries: Neon and Tunics

Lime time
I am completely obsessed with these linen skirts from J Crew! I have the same style in a neutral tan color and it goes with everything. But, this super bright green color is going to be great for the summer. It is super bold and of course preppy. I paired it with a more neutral tunic top that has great embroidery detailing. The color I am not a hundred percent positive if it is blue or black but I like to think that it is navy. For shoes I wore my favorite seersucker loafers from J Crew. As for accessories I kept it simple with a pair of gold bow studs, a pearl bracelet, and my favorite bangles.

{New week new manicure.}

{Arm candy of the day. This J Crew pearl bracelet literally goes with everything! I have the matching necklace and they are both very versatile pieces in my jewelry collection.}

Disney Week: Alice and Wonderland

Day 2: Alice and Wonderland

Alice and Wonderland is such a whimsical movie. Here is a funny picture I found with a floral crown. Who knew the cat would predict such a fashion trend.

This look was inspired by this picture and the overall feel of the movie. I wanted something that was whimsical, fun, and floral.

I paired a striped basic top with just a simple pair of jeans. With a bold and colorful necklace it gives the look a fun touch. Then a simple flower crown to add to your hair look to add an extra touch. Pair your ensemble with a pair of ballet flats (like Alice's in the movie!) and a fun floral bag.

Overall, Alice and Wonderland is a crazy and out there movie. So, mixing patterns and colors is a great way to draw inspiration from the movie.

OOTD: Purple and White

July 31st, 2013:

The Outfit: Today I kept things pretty casual. Simple colored jeans paired with a peplum tube top type shirt. I layered my new M necklace that I am OBSESSED with along with a colorful statement necklace. My topknot and brown flats complete the look.

Where it's from:
Jeans: J Crew
Top: Aerie
Shoes: Steve Madden
Bag: Michael Kors
Necklaces: Dry Goods
Bracelets: Henri Bendel, Alex and Ani, and Dry Goods
Rubber bracelet: Office Max

Okay, so I know I'm going to get judged hardcore... BUT in regardless, I went to Office Depot to go look at the One Direction line they have that is against bullying. As I was walking towards the back of the store they had this huge poster of the boys! So naturally I had to take pictures in front of it. The one above is me gushing over my favorite Niall Horan (I hate to pick favorites but if I had to Niall would be my favorite)

One Direction display at Office Depot. They had everything organized by each member so you could pick your favorite. Also, they all had a different message they represented.

These are the One Direction purchases I have made recently. They bracelet and notebooks are from Office Max but the pens are from Target. I was also super excited because purple is my favorite color and that was Niall's color! I think it's meant to be if you ask me.......

Also something exciting, I posted a picture of my recent Benefit purchases and Benefit favorited my tweet! Pretty cool stuff if you ask me.

Today I also went to JCPenny. I haven't been in there well basically never but my mom wanted to look for sheets. What else is new right? But, I have to say I was really impressed with their new home department. We went to a relatively new JCPenny but it was super nice and even had a Sephora in it! So, if you have an apartment defiantly look there for cute decorations.

Preppy Diaries: Stripes and Button Downs

July 23rd, 2013:
So recently I have been obsessing over preppy Tumblr accounts. Basically I have just been trying to be preppy but I think I'm doing it in still a Miranda way. Maybe? I don't know. But, Tuesday I went shopping with my friend it was kind of a fail but I liked my outfit so that's all that matters.

The Outfit: Again, I was going for a preppy look with the Keds, stripes, and button down. It is also slightly nautical too. That wasn't on purpose I assure you. This skirt is good to pair with a lot of things I have found myself really liking it. I feel like you can never go wrong with a denim button down either. (unless you wear it with jeans that is a NO GO)

Where it's from:
Skirt: Forever 21
Shirt: Dry Goods
Earrings and ring: Kate Spade
Necklace: H&M
Shoes: Keds
Bag: Betsey Johnson
Sunnies: Charming Charlie

Okay does anyone remember this gum? It has a rainbow zebra on it? Well we passed a truck for it on the way to the mall and I had to take a picture! I was pretty excited.

Zoo Day OOTD

July 9th, 2013:

Yesterday I decided to bring out my inner kid and take a trip to the zoo. It has literally been years since I have been so I was uber excited. I mean I was really excited.

We got to see a lot of animals. I felt the little Miranda coming out as the day went on. There was a bat room where it was open so basically the bats could fly around (but they didn't). But, this poor little bat looked like a sloth because he was like itching on the ground as funny as it was maybe it was hurt.... not quite sure. He was an entertaining little guy have to give him that much. Also there were the CUTEST baby black bears you ever did see. The mom was struggling hard core trying to get up from a nap so that was entertaining. But the babies were wrestling so it was a kodak moment. (don't worry I captured it on Vine. Because if I didn't post it on Vine did it really happen? Totally kidding but it was too adorable to pass up the moment.)

Anyways, here are some pics from my trip. I forgot to take a picture of just my outfit but I will give you the details in case something sparks your eye from afar.

My Outfit: Of course I kept it super casual it was supposed to rain so a topknot was a given. Tip: when in doubt wear a top knot if it's going to rain a'int nobody got time for frizzy hair after you straightened it or curled it. But pretty basic outfit for the most part.

Where it's from:
Shirt: Aerie
Shorts: American Eagle (high waisted festival shorts)
Shoes: Sperry Top Sider's
Bag: Marc by Marc Jacobs
Sunnies: Aerie
Bracelets: Henri Bendel and local boutique

I don't know if you can tell but their were little windows the penguins could sneak up in and there was two sitting right in front of us! I was pretty excited seeing how penguins are defiantly one of my fav animals.
