Sparklers, Fun, and Flags: Fourth of July outfit ideas

The Fourth of July is right around the corner! The month of June literally flew by. But now it is time to figure out what you are gonna wear for the big festivities. Determining your red, white, and blue ensemble kind of depends on what you will be doing on the fourth. Will you be at a classy affair, sitting on the grass watching fireworks, or in and out of the pool all day?

Well, I created three looks that are perfect for any activities you could be doing on the Fourth of July! There is a dressy, casual, and super casual look you can be inspired by.

Dressy: Lets say you are going to a more fancy place for the fourth. Maybe you are going to a nice restaurant, out on a nice boat, I can't think of anything else but maybe you just want to dress up! Well, here is the outfit for you! (I am actually kind of obsessed with this outfit.) I paired a fun pair of navy pom pom shorts with a simple white scallop tank. To add a pop of red to the look I added a bold Baublebar necklace. I love the layered look that this necklace gives. For accessories I chose a bright red leather bag with a neutral espadrille. Altogether it creates a very chic, preppy, and girly Fourth of July look.

Semi-Casual: I know for my Fourth of July I will probably be wondering around my friends town, watching fireworks, and other things of that nature. So, I want something comfy but also super cute. This would be my ideal look for the Fourth of July. I paired a fun pair of scalloped shorts with a simple white tee. Incorporating white into your outfit, I think, is super important! Mainly because you will be out in the hot sun and a white shirt will keep you cooler then a blue or red shirt. For shoes I paired them with these super fun Jack Rogers because they are my obsession. Then lastly I added a KJP red, white, and blue bracelet for an extra patriotic touch. Plus I am also obsessed with KJP.

Casual: There are a lot of people who are probably going to be on the beach, at the pool, or on a lake for the Fourth of July. So, this outfit is perfect to just throw on over a bathing suit! I am loving these super cute American flag running shorts! These are a huge trend it feels like and I love them. I paired the shorts with just a plain white tank (you could do red or blue too!) then a pair of white Keds and then a simple blue hair bow. If you are going for a preppy casual look this is your ideal 4th of July outfit.

Red, white, and chic!

All American girl
I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day! Everyone should take a moment to honor those who have fought for our country and freedom.
Here are some of my favorite red, white, and blue pieces! Any of these would be perfect to wear on Memorial day or the 4th of July or any day you are feeling patriotic.

Preppy Diaries: Seersucker and Neon

Seersucker + Neon= Fabulous
I recently did a blog haul with a bunch of new J Crew pieces I picked up. I have been wearing them all week and I am loving everything I got! This pair of seersucker pants is something that I recently picked up. Surprisingly this style of pants actually fits me! So, if you are a shorty or super petite like me try this style of pant from J Crew. They are a simple black and white seersucker that has a bright yellow neon piping accent. I paired the pants with just a simple Ralph Lauren Polo button down. These button downs are a major staple in my wardrobe. They seriously go with everything.

For accessories I wore my signature pearl necklace because I basically wear this every day! I also wore a thick silver metallic belt to add some extra interest and shine. To add a pop of color I wore a bright pink Revlon balm stain and topped it off with some NYX lip gloss. For shoes I wore my favorite pair of Sperry Top Siders.

OOTD: Warmer Weather

The weather is starting to warm up! Which means no tights, lighter jackets, and less layers. So, last week I took advantage of the warm weather with an outfit appropriate for the spring sun. I paired a simple denim button down with a flowy floral skirt. I accented the colors in the skirt with my fun statement necklace. For shoes I wore my favorite pair of camel brown booties from Target. I wore a fun pair of gold sparkle socks to accent the gold in the skirt. Overall, I cannot wait for more warm days and more outfits with less bulk!

OOTN: New Years Eve

NYE was a fun time. But now its over.... However here is what I wore on the big night to close in the year of 2013.

I wore a white and black cut out dress. It has a high low detail which makes it a little unique. I think the cut outs add a little bit of sexiness to the look without being to over the top.

I paired the look with my blue heels. Also, I layered on two chunky blue statement necklaces to create a lot of texture and to add a pop of color into the look. For makeup I added a bright pink lip to brighten up my lips.

I love how these necklaces look together. They add a lot of different textures and colors to the look. It also fills an empty spot where the dress doesn't have a lot of details.

The Ultimate #OOTD

September 11th, 2013:

The Outfit: This shirt basically describes my life. Many of you know I do OOTDs every single day for the most part. So obviously this muscle tank is perfect for me. I styled the muscle tank with a bright blue lace bandeau underneath. The blue pops out and adds a special touch to the look. Also I paired the black and white top with a black and white striped patterned skirt. This skirt is unique in the fact that it isn't your typical striped pattern. Overall, the look was fun and comfortable for the hot Ames weather.
