Formal Ready Looks

Spring formals are coming around the corner! I recently had my formal last weekend. But, there are still many formals to come. So, the big question is what should you wear for a fabulous formal night?

Well, depending on your school you can go either more casual or very formal. At my school I would say it is in between more casual and formal. Most girls wore a fun cocktail dress and a great pair of heels. If your school is similar here are three looks that will be formal ready.

Edgy: Lets say your not the typical "sorority girl". Well, you can still rock studs and spikes at your formal. Wear a fun dress that has lots of cut outs. This will create a cool and unique look. Pair your dress with a bold and punk statement necklace for a different type of "glam". For shoes, pick something with a metallic and some straps. If you want to carry a clutch carry a fun spiked one. With all of these components you will for sure stand out at your formal.

Girly: But, what if you are a super feminine girly girl? Well, formal will be a piece of cake! For a fun girly look stick with a fun silhouette. Something that hugs your waist tight will be super flattering. This dress also has a fun stripe pattern. But, if you want to keep things more simple find a solid color frock. For accessories find a cute pair of bold earrings that match your dress. Then for shoes wear a fun pair of pumps. These black ones have a fun bow accent that no girly girl could resist.

Boho: If boho is more your scene try and find a fun lace number. This one has a unique sleeve cut out detail so it adds an extra special touch. For accessories find a fun rhinestone head band to wear across your head. Add a stack of bangles and stud earrings for extra sparkle. Then for shoes wear a strappy sandal with thicker straps.

Betsey Johnson Holiday Wishlist

Betsey Johnson
Holiday Wishlist

Betsey Johnson Wishlist

Betsey Johnson is one of my all time favorite brands! Her pieces are perfect for anyone with a crazy, wild, and colorful sense of style. She has so many fun and unique pieces on her cite. A lot of her things would be great gifts for a sister, cousin, or friend.

Pretty in Pink
Betsey never fails to have some pink! These infinity scarfs are the perfect gift for a pink lover in your life. I mean it combines pink, pearls, and bows. What more could a girly girl need?

Purrrrfect!
Lets say they like cheetah print more? Well Betsey Johnson has some super cute cheetah print scarfs. You can go with an all over cheetah print or just an accent. (Depending on how bold the person you are shopping for is.)

Blingy things
Betsey Johnson jewelry is some of my favorite! They are super whimsical and unique. These four pieces are my favorites! The bottom two have super cute sayings along with them. While the top two are a little more bold. All four of these necklaces would make great gifts for a sister or a friend.

Grab bag
Who doesn't love a new bag at the holidays? Betsey has some super cute bags with some great details. Like this cheetah bag with chain on the piping and the taupe bag with gold accents.

Holiday cheer
Check out this super cute owl ornament! A small accessory like this is a perfect gift for a teacher or neighbor.

Betsey Johnson Holiday Dresses

Betsey Johnson Holiday Dresses
So you need a dress for the holiday season but not sure what to wear?
Well, Betsey Johnson has some super adorable party dresses for any occasion you may have this holiday season!

New Years Eve:

These dresses are perfect for a New Years eve. The black with bronze and gold accents is super chic and sophisticated. A dress with cap sleeves is a great alternative to the normally scandalous New Years Eve get up. People lets keep it classy never trashy ;). The dress on the write has a unique skirt which is a cool detail. It also resembles a tu tu which is always a plus.

Do go along with your classy bronze dresses try wearing these bronze Mary Jane style heels from Betsey Johnson.

Here are some cute alternatives to the traditional sequin New Years Eve dresses. These feature fun prints, silhouettes, and textures.

With these dresses wear a fun pair of spiked pumps. These will give you height and make your legs miles long!!

Christmas:

To get in the holiday spirit wear a fun red dress! The dress on the right reminds me of a 60s house wife which is kind of Mad Men... which is good. With the pleating around the hips and the tight waist you will look perfect his holiday. Then for a more sparkly option go for a sequin number like the dress on the right.

Keep your shoes classy around your family. Wear this fun pair of scalloped inspired heels. They aren't to tall but they are super sparkly still!

Back-To-School-Saturday OOTD #BTSS

Hey guys! I hope everyone tried to take advantage of BTSS! Here is what I wore to the Chicago Topshop event!

The Outfit: Today I went with the black and white trend. I wore this black and white striped circle skirt which is super flowy and comfortable. It has a very unique striped pattern that is very graphic. I paired it with a classic denim button down of course. All my accessories are rose gold (my favorite metal). Then I topped off the look with some bright pink lipstick and gloss.

Necklace: Juicy Couture

OOTD: Day in the City

August 2nd, 2013:

Today, I went shopping with my friend downtown Chicago on State Street. It was a lot of fun and I got of good stuff.

The Outfit: This outfit is casual but dressy at the same time. I paired this bright printed skirt with a denim vest and a plain white tank. This skirt is super fun because it has a bunch of ruffles on the bottom. The fit I also find very flattering. It is tight at the top then it goes out a little bit where the ruffles are. I completed the look with a statement necklace, bracelets, and my white Keds sneakers.

Skirt: Betsey Johnson
Vest: American Eagle
Tank: Aerie
Necklace: Target
Bracelets: Henri Bendel and local boutique

My Must Have Summer Accessories: Army Candy

Arm Candy:
To be honest, I have no idea where the name arm candy came about. But, I do know that stacking bracelets and bangles is a amazing invention. In the summer time I always find myself reaching for my leather engraved bracelets, bangles, and sparkly little gems. However, this summer I took it to a whole new level. I'm pretty sure their isn't a day that I don't have some type of bracelet on my wrist! Here are a few of my favorite brands/ bracelets.

BCBG: So we all have seen these before, but they are just a leather band with different metal words. I have 3 of these super cute bracelets. I have a TRUE one which has rose gold letters and a neutral leather band. Then I have a FIERCE one which has gold letters with a black sparkly band. Then I have a rubber pink band with gold letters that say SWAG. These are just fun bracelets that can add some sass to your wrist. They are super comfortable and even fit my baby wrist so it is a good option for everyone.
Where to get them: Macy's, Nordstrom, and other department stores. I will say Macy's DEFIANTLY has the biggest selection though!

Marc by Marc Jacobs: Next, I have a few of these rubber Marc Jacob bracelets. They were on sale at a fabulous Nordstrom sale and I had to pick up a few. I had one previously and I really liked it so I invested in some more. These are honestly just a fun bracelet. I feel like a kid again with the rubber and the bright color options. I opted for more neutral colors that  I know I can wear. But, their are definitely more bright and bold options.
Where to get them: Nordstrom

Bangles: My two bangle obsessions at the moment are my Kate Spade bangle I received as a gift and my Alex and Ani bangle I got a Disney World. My Alex and Ani bangle I never take off. It actually fits my wrist and it is a souvenir from my trip. Supposedly it gives you energy or something like that. I cannot vouch for that but I do know that it's really cute. Then my Kate Spade bangle is bright and fun (like everything that is Kate Spade). It has white, hot pink, a lime green, and a coral color all the way around the band. The colors are separated with gold pyramid studs. Which is perfect seeing how I have gold pyramid stud earrings to perfectly match.

Henri Bendel: Although I only have one Henri Bendel piece, it does not mean I don't dream of more! I recently went into the city (Chicago) and wondered into the glorious Henri Bendel store. Mesmerized by the sparkle of the room and with new found birthday money in my pocket I had to get myself one. So I had to look past the beautiful colors to find a neutral piece that I could wear with anything. I found this amazing brown braided bracelet with gold and brown stones that wrap all away around. It is a beautiful piece and I haven't taken it off since I got it. You can definitely tell it is very well made so I know this piece is going to last me a long time.

Here are some of my past arm candy looks from my instagram and outfits. The London, Paris, New York, and rose gold link bracelet are from H&M. The spike and black pyramid stud bracelets are from Forever 21. Then rope like bracelet is from the Sperry store. It is made of real boat rope and has a junky silver clasp. Then the freedom bracelet is from Dry Goods.

In addition here are some of my favorite layering pieces. They are very dainty so they go along great with my more showy pieces.

From left to right: Betsey Johnson bought at Macy's, Aerie, Aerie, ASOS, Charming Charlie's.
These are my FAVORITE rose gold pieces. I am a huge rose gold junky so I wear these all the time.
