As a post grad girl, there are a few things you need to survive in the adult world. Luckily, the Nordstrom sale is a good opportunity to stock up on business essentials for fall. Today, I wanted to share some good basics and some fun pieces that would be great for anyone who just graduated college, or if you've been out of school a few years but are still looking for cute work and adult appropriate pieces.
SHOES
When it comes to shoes having a nice basic sneaker, nude flat, and a nude heel are essential for an adult wardrobe. Particularly, I love Cole Haan sneakers. I wear them all the time for work! Granite I have a more unique job position where I can be on my feet all day at conventions and shows so having comfortable sneakers that are still appropriate is very handy. This pair from Cole Haan is a great basic to wear with jeans or chino pants for a casual work environment. Nude heels and flats are a no brainer obviously. They go with so much and can also be worn for weddings, cocktail parties, or other grown up events. Once I graduated college I downgraded my 5inch heels for a shorter heel because how in the heck did I ever walk in those?!
BLAZERS
I am here for the blazer trend for this fall. I LOVE a good blazer, not even just for work. You can layer any of these blazers with a button down or blouse for work. Then transition it to casual style by pairing it with jeans, a tee, or even a silk cami. I will say the sale has some super cute blazer options this year.
OUTERWEAR
Okay ladies, I am here to tell you to invest in a NICE coat. No one wants to wear their old bar coat to the office or out with friends. Obviously I will suggest a fabulous Barbour jacket because #shamelessplug. But in all seriousness, Barbour jackets last a lifetime if properly cared for. This is a jacket you can buy now and wear well into your 30's and it will still be classic and in style. They really are a great investment! Plus, they don't go on sale all that often.
DRESSES & TOPS
There are some cute dresses and tops included in the sale as well. Nothing super crazy here, but some good options for the office or even for a night out. Some of these would also be cute for a fall wedding!
WORK PANTS
If you go into a true office, I love some of these pants for work wear. They are more interesting then basic slacks but still professional.
Those are all of the products I'd recommend to post-grads! Again, some great pieces that could be good options for work wear that can also transition out of the office.
