OOTD: Fur and Stripes

With new additions into my closet from Christmas I have been trying out my new pieces. One of them being my faux fur vest. I paired the vest with one of my favorite striped dresses from Forever 21. My color combination of the maroon, creme and black is a fun winter look.

Having a faux fur vest for the winter is actually really handy. If you are going to be outside layer it under your coat to keep you warm. I recently wore this downtown Chicago (look out for that post!) and it kept me super warm and cozy.

 I love wearing maroon in the winter and fall. It's a color but at the same time it is super neutral.

For accessories I included an unique chain and rhinestone necklace, my new watch, and a pair of ballet flats.

{I have been styling my hair like this ever since Christmas. It may be my new signature hair look.}

OOTD: Brown and Blush

With Christmas over I have many new things I am working into my style. For example my blush colored tights. The color is super unique but I think I will be able to wear them a lot.

I paired the blush tights with a taupe brown dress. This dress is super flattering and I got it for a super good deal (as usual I'm a bargain hunter). To accessorize the look I wore my new favorite statement necklace. (Lets be honest I love all my necklaces but this one is extra fabulous.) The necklace has subtle pink tones which helps tie in the look with the blush tights.

Of course my arm candy had to be represented with my new Michael Kors watch.

I styled my hair in a top knot to keep it out of my face and to prevent the annoying static! But, it makes the look extra girly and chic. And of course a bold bright lip was a must for this look.

{As I said I am in love with this necklace! It is super bold but the colors are subtle so it's not to over powering. And I find myself reaching for it often because it goes with so much of my wardrobe!}

{Making faces. The usual.}

{I am obsessed with Alex and Ani bangles. They are super dainty and girly. The M bangle on the bottom is from Charming Charlies and was on sale for only $4! So, if you think Alex and Ani is a little expensive there are cheaper alternatives.}

New Years Eve Beauty Essentials

New Years Eve Beauty Essentials

NYE is a great night of the year to mix up your everyday makeup look. My best advice is to be BOLD. Try something that is out of your comfort zone. If you usually wear nude lips try a bold red. {Note to self a bold red lip is always okay on a holiday!}.

From my experience I love experimenting with lip products. I find it is the easiest way to switch up your look. Especially if you normally have your lips bare this will make a huge statement and it will add some color to your look. Also, a new trend I am seeing is a purple lip. So if you are feeling extra bold go for it!

Another fun thing to add to a NYE look is glitter or metallic nail polish. New Years eve is full of glamour so might as well deck out your nails too.

For me I love a cat eye look using liner. I find it the easiest to achieve with either a liquid liner or a gel.

Then lastly, glowy skin is also a good look. Pick yourself up some rosy blush to bright up your face. To add extra glow you can use a liquid or powder highlight.

Have a happy NYE!

OOTD: Christmas Day

For my Christmas Day look I really wanted to wear one of my newest purchases... My blue Sam Eldeman heels. So, naturally I reached for one of my favorite little black dresses from H&M to help me out.

I paired my simple black dress with a pair of bright blue fishnet tights. Ironically these happen to match my shoes very well. So, the pairing together made for a bold blue statement which I am kind of obsessed with.
In general, I have been super into colored heels. I like dressing up a simple look with bold heels or colored tights. It's an easy way to add color into a winter look.

Along with my classic look I paired a Christmas gift I got the night before. My new J Crew pearl statement piece is definitely a new favorite of mine! Like my other statement necklace this one literally goes with everything it seems like. I know it will be a great piece to have in my statement necklace collection. (Which is getting kind of out of hand. But, a girl can never have to many necklaces!)

I also finished the look off with my new Michael Kors watch and Alex and Ani and Juicy Couture bangles!

{I also have been super into bold lips/ lipsticks this holiday and winter season. Who can resist all of those amazing drugstore options out there. My favorites are for sure the Revlon balm stains and their classic lipsticks.}

{Some new additions to my arm party.}

{A few selfies with my girly and puffed hair. I felt very 60's inspired for some reason with my hair all done up. Is it just me or do you agree?}

{Posing and such.}

Holiday Ready Hair

I'm loving experimenting with hair this holiday season. It is a nice way to mix up your hair look and make it a little more special. Here are some of my favorite ideas where you can get some inspiration for your hair.

Create a messy fishtail like this one with pulling on your braid to make it more loose and messy. This will add a lot of texture to your look. Not to mention it could save you from a bad hair day!

A twist on a pony tail you could try!

A fun braided bun style.

OOTD: Christmas Eve

{Trying to be a Kate Spade model.... did it work?}

Christmas Eve was full of fun and festive happenings. I wanted my Christmas Eve ensemble to be super festive and fun at the same time. My look I feel is very vintage/ Kate Spade inspired for some reason.

For the occasion I rented a dress from Rent the Runway. Renting is super easy and simple when it comes to RTR and I would highly suggest it if you wanted to have a super nice dress for only a night.
This dress is from the brand BCBG. I own some of there dresses so I know for sure the fit would be good. To no surprise the dress fit like a glove and was super flattering. It had tight fitting sleeves and a tight bodice and flared out from the waist. The fabric was a mix of see through lace with a skin colored under part so you didn't actually see any skin.
The dress was super fun and I think worked great for the holidays.

Pairing the dress with red tights, gold heels, and a gold skinny belt I think screamed Christmas! Like I said, I wanted my look to be super fun and full of Christmas spirit. Whenever I wear tights I think of one Gossip Girl episode which inspired me to buy the tights in the first place. So in a way I felt like Blair Waldorf in this look.

I've always been a gold over silver person. Which is why I loved adding the gold accents to my holiday look. The heels are super festive and add an unexpected touch of glam to my look. Also, they stand out well against the red tights!

To complete the look I wore bright bold red lips of course! And I styled my hair a little differently. But, ever since then I have styled my hair like it because I am kind of obsessed with the extra touch of volume it gives to my hair.

Overall, I loved this Christmas look!

{My statement gold heels. I love how there is a little bit of silver in the shoe if you wanted to do a mix metals look!}

My Everyday Winter Makeup Look {Tutorial!}

My Everyday Winter Makeup Look:
For almost all of winter I have stuck with the same eye look. Usually everyday I mix it up a little bit but I have been loving copper and blush eye shadows lately. They are natural but have a bit of sheen to them.

To change up my look I usually change my blush or lip color depending on my mood. But, almost everyday I use my Benefit RSVP cream shadow (I use it in this look!)

First I start off with my Covergirl 3 in one foundation. However I apply a combination of my Mary Kay concealer and my Physicians Formula concealer before applying my foundation. This gives the best coverage in my opinion. Then after foundation I use my Fit Me pressed powder all over my face.

Here is my eyes after using Benefit's RSVP. I always use a creme shadow as a base for all my eye looks. The Maybelline color tattoos are a great dupe for the Benefit cream shadows!

First I apply a light golden tone to my whole lid. Then I focus a pink tone in my corner and in the crease.

Next, I take a darker pink tone and put it in the outer corner over the lighter pink.

Lastly I take a little bit of this plum color and put it in the outer corner as well.

I created a small cat eye with my Rimmel exaggerate eyeliner. Usually day to day I skip eyeliner but I like to mix it up every once and a while and add it.

Next I use my two favorite mascaras at the moment! The clump crusher and then the classic Great Lash mascara.

For today's cheeks I used a combination of my NYX blush stick and then my Milani blush in luminouso.

To complete the look I added a bright lip color of course!

I hope this gave you some ideas of how you can do your makeup. Comment below if you like beauty posts like this!
