Sometimes it is nice to just wear some basics! I'm all for a trend but wearing simple classic pieces is also so nice and refreshing. My style in general tends to be more classic than trendy. So outfits like this are up my alley.
You can dress up basic pieces with trendier accessories to make them new and fresh each season! This easy white pom pom tank top and navy shorts is a pretty timeless summer outfit. Nothing crazy going on. But, I paired it with a velvet headband, celestial themed earrings, and a straw circle bag to show off some current trends. Invest in classic pieces and then buy affordable accessories to mix those pieces up year after year.
The best part about both of these clothing pieces is that they aren't even that big of an investment! This tassel top was on super sale at J. Crew Factory and was such a good deal. In my opinion you can never have to many basic white tops or blouses. They don't necessarily need to be huge investments, but you can find good quality affordable pieces that can last more than just one season.
Almost 99% of the time I keep all of my clothes for years. I'm just starting to get rid of items from high school! I try to buy things that will last me a while instead of super trendy cheap items.
