What I Wore: Navy Pier Fireworks

A trip to Navy Pier is always a good idea! My friend, my  mom, and I headed off to Navy Pier downtown Chicago to see the Fireworks display. They put on fireworks every Wednesday and Saturday during the summer and it is AWESOME! We love fireworks so we wanted to cross of the Navy Pier fireworks off our summer bucket list.

We ate at Margaritaville for dinner and got some tasty daiquiri drinks, I chose the Pina Coloda and it was amazing. Yum! Then we walked around the pier and explored. It has recently been renovated and it super modern and beautiful.

As for my look, I kept things casual and comfortable. I paired a simple pineapple pocket tee with a plain black circle skirt. The skirt has a fun elastic band that adds a pop of texture. A cozy tee is the perfect piece to wear on a hot day. I love J Crew's tees like this one because they are thin and breathable. Also, how could you not love the adorable pineapple sequin detailing??

To add an extra element of comfort I wore a cute pair of sneakers. I love wearing sneakers with skirts or dresses to make the look more casual. I kept accessories simple with my KJP monogram necklace and some arm candy. I've been wearing this KJP necklace non-stop this summer. It just goes with everything (I can't help myself)!

OOTD: Double Seersucker

Vineyard vines recently had the huge Whale of a Sale and I picked up some awesome stuff. One thing I picked up was this fun Kentucky Derby hat. Although I didn't go to the Kentucky Derby this year it is for sure on my bucket list. So, I couldn't help but pick up this adorable pink seersucker whale hat. Ironically, this hat matches my Lilly skort perfectly. I love how it is matchy matchy but not in an obnoxious way. It's just right!

Wearing baseball caps with a more dressy look can bring things to a more casual level. Not to mention a baseball hat is the perfect way to conquer a bad hair day.

Lilly skorts are my favorite thing! I love this one because it looks more like a wrap skirt and has an adorable white trim. With the seersucker fabric it gives texture, print, and color but you can match it with a wide variety of things. But, for this look I kept it simple with a plain white button down.

These two pieces are probably my favorite seersucker items I own! I just love pink seersucker, I think it is super dainty and perfect for spring and summer.

Hat: vineyard vines

OOTD: Pink and Green

With this green and pink combination I'm feeling like a watermelon (but totally in a good way)! This unlikely color combo turned into a super cute and simple look.

Normally I am not a fan of simple solid tees, but I love this garment dyed tee from J Crew. The simple and refreshing mint green color goes perfectly with this coral pink skirt. With a simple rounded neckline and light fabric this tee is the perfect basic piece for any summer wardrobe. Not to mention, this is my all time favorite skirt from J Crew. I wear them all the time (literally all the time) and they are super comfortable and easy to wear.

For accessories I kept things simple with a pendent necklace, watch, bangles, and of course a Vickers Bow bracelet from KJP. My go-to neutral Henri Bendel bag completes the simple easy look.

Since I got my Michele watch for my 21st birthday I can't stop wearing it! It's become my go-to watch because of how classic and neutral it is. I also got this super fun KJP Vickers Bow bracelet for my birthday. It gives me major Lilly Pulitzer vibes and I love the elephant in the center.

Necklace: KJP
Shoes: Jack Rogers
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
Bracelets: Alex and Ani, Kendra Scott, and KJP

What I Wore: Local Art Festival

A few weekends ago my boyfriend and I went and explored a local art festival. The festival featured artists from around IL who ranged from jewelry artists, painters, photographers, and more! It was a beautiful day to walk around and to gaze at all of the different works of art. My personal favorite was a gorgeous painting of a row boat, sadly we couldn't take any pictures! But, when I have a house of my own I hope to own some locally made art to spice up the walls.

My go-to weekend look is a pair of J Crew chino shorts and a cute easy tee. This tee is adorned with dainty gold palm trees which is perfect for summer. J Crew tees are super thin which makes them perfect for hot days. These shorts are a bold turquoise color which spices up the otherwise white and gold ensemble.

Naper Settlement is an adorable historic attraction downtown Naperville. The art festival was held on the grounds and it was nice to stroll around and see all of the green space, flowers, and old world inspired buildings. If you are ever in the area it is a super fun place to be!

OOTD: Polka Dots and Pink

A trip to the Apple store to fix a laptop is NEVER a fun experience. But, I might as well dress up for the occasion and make a night out of it. My laptop is luckily been replaced with a brand new MacBook after taking many trips to the Genius bar. But, it feels good to know I have a laptop that works! As for this look I stuck with something simple and easy for a night downtown and a dinner out.

I purchased these shorts years ago but they have held up well, considering most Forever 21 pieces last a few wears! These shorts go perfectly with any top and are oh-so comfy. For this look I wore my current favorite button down from vineyard vines. It's very soft and breathes well even in humid weather.

I've recently picked up new Jack Rogers and I've been loving mixing things up with them! I usually live in my gold pair all summer, but it's been nice to have a few different colors to choose from. As for accessories, it's nothing new that I've been wearing my KJP bracelets on repeat. The anchor Vickers Bow Bracelet is a summer favorite of mine. But, I recently picked up a white rope bracelet (featured on my IG) that I think will become my new go-to.

Naperville Art Festival Snapshots

Last weekend my boyfriend and I were trying to figure out something to do, it was a beautiful day and I just wanted to be outside! So, we ventured to the Naperville Art Festival held at Naper Settlement. The weather was perfect and we walked around the grounds and explored the gorgeous locally made art. Sadly, most stands had a "no photography rule". Probably because they know people like me would be snapping away (not to steal of course but to remember all of the amazing art!). But, I documented the beautiful day filled with flowers, color, and sunshine. Enjoy!

Naper Settlement is an adorable historic site Downtown Naperville. It features old time buildings and exhibits where you can step back in time. They are always holding events so if you are in the area be sure to check it out.

I was obsessed with these white flowers! They are so gorgeous.

What are your plans this upcoming weekend? Let me know in the comments!

CORA: Feel good even during "that time"

little black box image c/o CORA

Let's be honest, EVERYONE hates "that time of the month". It's uncomfortable and not to mention awkward! But, Cora has a solution for both of these problems during your period. Cora is a tampon company that creates Fearless Fit tampons that are made of 100% premium organic cotton and BPA free plastic applicators for a natural feel-good product.

I was sent these tampons to try out and I instantly fell in love with the message and mission of the brand. Young girls around the world have to stop school due to the lack of of access they have to feminine products. So, for every monthly supply you purchase Cora donates menstrual products to girls in need. Essentially every time you buy something from Cora you are helping a girl in need!

stowaway image c/o CORA

What I love about Cora is all of the options they have to store and carry your tampons! Carrying a pad or tampon to the bathroom can be a super awkward experience. So, Cora created stowaways and the little black clutch to keep your tampons safely and stylishly tucked away. Their little black clutch is made of vegan leather and is super sleek and fashionable. No one will ever know what is inside! They also have a stylish little black box that you can proudly display on your vanity or in your bathroom. Say goodbye to the ugly cardboard box you hide under your sink! I know I will be showing off this gorgeous box on my bathroom counter.

Cora is also perfect for on-the-go! The little black clutch is great for throwing in your backpack, tote bag, beach bag, or purse to have extra tampons on hand. Or you can take a stowaway to the bathroom if your out to dinner with friends or in class. As you can see it is no larger then a normal lipstick so it is super compact and can fit in almost every handbag.

Cora has such an amazing message I couldn't help but sharing this awesome brand with you all! For just my readers use the code CORA5MIRANDA to get $5 off your monthly supply purchase at Cora!

Now, go help a girl in need and pick up your monthly supply at Cora.
XOXO

I was sent these CORA products to review and to create a post. ALL opinions are my own. Thank you Cora!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks!

How many times are you going to see someones Nordstrom Anniversary picks? Well at least one more time! I've been going to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale for as long as I can remember! We used to always go to the kids shoe department and pick out our shoes for back-to-school. Now being 21 it has turned into a little more then that, and when I say a little I mean a lot!

Now, I go to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale to pick out my college essentials and to find pieces I know I can wear for a long time. Some of my favorite shoes and accessories have come from N Sales of the past! This year I focused mainly on accessories and shoes.

I picked up these adorable tan swede booties in the bottom left hand corner. I LOVE THEM! They are the perfect height and are super flattering and chic. I also grabbed the Tory Burch espadrilles (I've been eyeing them for forever!) and a pair of brown lace up flats. Lace up flats were HUGE when I was in Europe last fall, I picked up a pair there and they are so comfortable and I got so many compliments on them. So, I knew I had to get another more neutral pair to wear this fall.

For accessories, I always stock up on Kendra Scott. I picked up the gold dangle pair of earrings, the classic Elisa necklace, and an adjustable bangle. All of my Kendra Scott pieces are more colorful and light so I wanted to get some great fall tones to add to my collection. I also picked up a pair of glitter pink Kate Spade studs. I picked up a similar gold pair last year and I love them! Sadly the pair I got is out of sale (thank goodness I ordered online the first day!), but the other colors are equally as cute. Also, I was hoping to pick up this MONICA VINADER friendship bracelet, but it didn't fit! So, sadly I had to pass. #smallwristproblems

Beret hats are my favorite style of hats, so when I saw this cute little guy I had to get one! I picked up the sand taupe color to match all of my fall looks to channel my inner Parisian.

Bags are my weakness, and when I saw this Tory Burch bag (bottom center) I wanted it so bad! So, I splurged and picked it up, but I'm still deciding on it. But, I love how it is such a unique shape and you can make the straps a shoulder bag or turn the bag into a crossbody. I also picked up this smaller cross body for $30!!! Since I turned 21 I've found that I need a "not so nice" bag to carry to the bars. When I carried my beloved Henri Bendel around I was cringing at the dirty tables and possible spilling drinks. That's why I picked this up! I think it will hold up well but it also isn't a designer handbag that could get a) ruined or b) stolen!

When it comes to clothing I haven't picked up to many pieces in the past few sales. I used to get EVERYTHING in sight in the BP section, but it really isn't my style anymore. But, I tried on the most AMAZING pair of Paige jeans. Normally I'm a pretty low maintenance jean kind of gal. However, I've heard about how great Paige denim is so I wanted to try on a pair just to see and boy are they amazing. They fit me like a glove, and the same pair fit my mom perfectly too! So, I think these jeans would work on a lot of different body types, and they are on super sale.

Those are my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale picks/ what I picked up! What are you picking up from this sale? What are your favorite pieces? Let me know in the comments!

What I Wore: Hiking

For a day of adventures in Voyagers National Park on the 4th of July I sported the perfect patriotic combination. With fun flag running shorts and a comfy pull over I was comfortable, festive, and stylish all while exploring the outdoors.

While hiking and exploring I like to protect my face and eyes with a baseball cap. This hat is from Smathers and Branson and sports my sorority letters Pi Beta Phi. I love this hat because of the embroidered details signature to Smathers and Branson.

Krass and Co. shorts are also a major essential for me while hiking. They are uber comfortable and soft unlike any other running shorts I own! You can get your own pair of Krass & Co. shorts for a discount using the code MPOLLITT at checkout. These shorts are so worth the price and are great for working out, hiking, running, or just hanging around.

Crane Lake Snapshots

Last weekend I spent 4th of July at Crane Lake in Minnesota. It was quite an adventure since I've never spent a. that much time in the wilderness and b. I've never gone fishing. So, it was a weekend of many firsts, but I'm glad I could spend the holiday weekend soaking up the sun and relaxing by the lake. Here are a few snapshots from my weekend!

Jadelynn Brooke tees are my go-to comfy t-shirt brand. I just love their bright colors and adorable designs!

For the 4th I couldn't help but deck out in patriotic gear. I sported this vineyard vines American flag shep shirt along with my Krass & Co. Pi Beta Phi flag shorts. To get my Krass & Co. shorts for a discount be sure to use the code MPOLLITT at checkout!

We drove around in this fun vintage boat that is an adorable Tiffany blue color.

On the last day of our trip we took a hike through the national park. There were some crazy cool views so we stopped to snap some pictures (naturally).

What did you do for the holiday weekend? Let me know in the comments!
