Spring Summer 2016 Lookbook

For my styling course at London College of Fashion we had to create a lookbook from spring summer 2016 around a high street retailer. My partner and I decided we wanted to mesh the feminine trends with the Topshop cool factor as we call it. We chose tailoring, the bomber jacket, lace, sheers and ruffles, and summer fur as our key trends. Then for our accessory trends we chose shoulder duster earrings, platforms, and a bow belt. This is our final product! Enjoy!

Sketched in Pink

Last week I was able to go to the "it" restaurant in London for my friend Sarah's 21st Birthday. If you follow me on Instagram you would know that I was borderline obsessed with the all pink posh interior of the restaurant. Head to toe pink. From the walls, chairs, tables, EVERYTHING pink! It was amazing. If you ever have the chance to go it's a must see. It is a bit expensive (especially after the conversion rate ouch!), but it is a great place to get a nice dinner.

My drink of the night was a Sketch Spritz. It was a drink made of mainly champagne with grapefruit liquor. It was so good! Very refreshing and perfect for a light drink.

**Excuse my bathroom selfie** but I couldn't help it! Sketch is also famous for their egg individual bathrooms. I have to say I've never seen a bathroom so beautiful in my life.

What I'm wearing:
Dress: Topshop
Tights: H&M
Booties: Dolce Vita
Earrings: Baublebar
Lipstick: Makeup Forever

For dinner I opted for the non-traditional fish and chips. It was a lot of food! I could have easily split it with someone. But, it was very good and very fresh! Then for dessert my friend Maggie and I split the Sketch Chocolat which was very good! Not to rich, just the right amount of chocolate.

Overall, my experience in Sketch was divine and I hope to return soon!!!
Have you been to Sketch? What are your thoughts on it? Let me know in the comments!

Audrey Hepburn Exhibit Review

A few weeks ago (which feels like forever ago) I got to attend the National Portrait Gallery's Audrey Hepburn exhibit. Since watching her classic films, like Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's, I've fallen in love with Audrey Hepburn. She is such a classic beauty and an amazing fashion inspiration and icon. So, when I saw that there was an exhibit on her I knew I had to go.

The exhibit digs deep into Hepburn's history and uncovers things I never knew about her. There is more to her then just her movie roles and classic Hollywood style. I loved learning about her days as a ballerina and also her time as a humanitarian. The exhibit examines all aspects of her life through the portraits and photographs of her.

My personal favorites include the still life shots from her films and the gorgeous portrait of her next to a wall of pink flowers. The exhibit takes you through her life in chronological order which makes it easy to understand and process. Sometimes museums can be so overwhelming that it gets to be too much. But, I think this exhibit was organized well and was entertaining. Another highlight of the exhibit was a huge wall of all of her magazine covers throughout her career.

The only down side of this exhibit that it was PACKED and there were no photographs allowed. So, sometimes it wasn't pleasant when people were running into you or taking 20 years to read the small card of information next to a photograph. But, nonetheless, this exhibit is perfect for any Hepburn fan!

Have you visited the Audrey Hepburn exhibit? Let me know in the comments!

Sew Cute Abroad: Liberty London Exhibit

As you enter the small Fashion and Textile museum you are greeted by a bold bright pink and blue wall. We purchased our ticket and made our way into the exhibit. The first room explains the rich history of the Liberty brand and store. Since I've been in London I have always loved Liberty. If you don't already know, Liberty is a high end department store like Harrods or Selfridges. But, they have their own signature floral prints that are adorable! But, I had no idea how much history was behind these prints.

Liberty started as a retailer to supply imported goods from Asia to the British market. So, a lot of their pieces and fabrics are inspired by traditional Asian prints. Here are some of the pictures I took of the exhibit!

The details that some of these pieces have is incredible! The ornate craftsmanship is something to admire and recognize of periods of the past when it comes to making beautiful clothes.

This was my favorite top in the exhibit. I would wear this today! I love the unique collar and an interesting take on a traditional blouse.

I also loved the 60's and 70's dresses. They were so bright and colorful they reminded me of vintage Lilly Pulitzer prints in some ways. The retro silhouettes were oh-so-cute and reminded me of something my Nana would have worn.

After the vintage pieces, they also had Liberty collaboration pieces on display. From Nike to Jimmy Choo they had a wide range of collabs that were to die for!

Overall, I loved this exhibit. Liberty has been one of my favorite stores in London and it was amazing to learn more about it. The exhibit had a good flow, was interesting, and I think would appeal to people who aren't die hard fashion fans (like myself). If you happen to be in London I highly suggest going! Also, going to the actual Liberty store is a must!
